As an avid SEO blogger and writer, I’ve learned a few tricks for crafting articles that perform well on Medium. My goal with each post isn’t just to share my ideas – I want people to read what I say. So I put in the effort to optimize my content for search engines while still keeping things interesting.
Topic selection :
Topic selection is key. I like to choose themes that I’m passionate about, whether that’s books, travel destinations, or even silly lists. But I also do some keyword research to see what people are searching for. This helps me tap into real demand. For my last article about minimalist living, I focused on terms like “decluttering” and “minimalism tips” which attracted a great audience.
USING KEYWORDS :
Once I have a topic, the title is so important for attracting clicks. I use keywords but make it compelling with an intriguing mini-question or a bit of advice. For example, my title “Declutter Your Life in 5 Simple Steps” performed very well.

Then in the subheader and first paragraph, I give readers a taste of what’s to come while reinforcing my main keyword phrases. I naturally work in my target words 7-10 times each and include relevant internal links to my other articles. Images, quotes, and simple charts help break things up too.
After publishing, I share across social channels and engage with any comments or questions. Over time, if my articles solve problems for readers they will hopefully get discovered more in searches.
